Inspired by work of Frank Lloyd Wright, this panel is an attempt
to create multilayered, 3D impression from a two dimensional panel.
Clear glass incorporated in the middle of the circle (see the difference
between "Rough Rolled" background glass and inserts of
clear glass) makes an impression that the design inside the circle
is suspended in the air in front of the panel. Rippled light blue
glass is oriented in such a way that it gathers the most amount
of light, regardless of its direction, to emphasize the depth of
the design. Textured glass creates an almost tactile sensation based
solely on the visual impression and emotions evoked by it. The "granite"
texture evokes a "feeling" of cold, stone surface, where
the "rippled" surface feels like a surface of the water
on the tropical island. Combined with the warm glass colors and
artfully contradicted to and complemented by them these textures
create a truly unique effect for the viewer, while the different
shades of blue focus the attention in the middle of the circle where
the clear glass helps to create 3D effect from the design. |
